batch updating - best practice?

hi all,

Ive got a .net webapplication that need to create/update around 400 current invoices with 4 - 5 invoice lines.

I'm thinking iterating over all the 1800 postings in webapp and for each posting, find the debtor, check if theres a current invoice (active), create the lines.

That might just time out. Havent even tried.

Or submit each posting to a queue in webapp and process them on a scheduled basis like this: create an .aspx page that processes 1 from queue of each time page is loaded - and schedule the page to be hit continously.

 Is there another approach?

Hi Jesper,

If I understand you correctly:

1. Your app frequently adds invoice lines for customers.
2. You want to, from time to time, add these to existing or new current invoices for these customers in e-conomic

How often do you need to be up-to-date, e-conomic wise?

And, at those frequencies - what'd be the typical number of lines and customers, respectively, having been added?

Best regards,
