Per definition if the gross amount is positive it is an invoice - thus it will use the invoice template. This is the way e-conomic works.

Glad to hear that you have solved your problem. The key here is that we do not specifically support PHP implementations. There are a large number of languages , frameworks, and tools available for integrating with a SOAP and we simply cannot hope to support even a fraction of them.
